Visa Information

As you prepare to celebrate with us in beautiful Accra, Ghana, please note that most guests traveling to Ghana will be required to obtain a visa prior to departure. We encourage everyone to verify their individual entry requirements based on their country of citizenship and begin the application process well in advance of our wedding festivities. Ghana’s official e-Visa system allows eligible travelers to apply online. To determine your eligibility and review the required documents, please visit the official Ghana e-Visa portal:

The steps to obtain a visa are listed below⁠

  • Title 01

    Before beginning your application, make sure your passport:

    • Is valid for at least six (6) months beyond your arrival in Ghana

    • Has at least one blank visa page (some missions may require two facing blank pages)

    • Is in good condition (not damaged or altered)

    Complete the online visa application using Ghana's official visa portal:

    Follow the prompts to:

    • Create an account

    • Complete the application

    • Upload your required documents

    • Pay the visa fee

    • Submit your application

    Please have the following ready:

    ✅ Valid U.S. Passport

    ✅ One recent passport-style photograph

    ✅ Completed visa application

    ✅ Flight itinerary or round-trip reservation

    ✅ Hotel confirmation or accommodation information

    ✅ Invitation letter (if requested)

    ✅ Proof of the purpose of your visit (our wedding invitation may be used as supporting documentation)

    ✅ Payment for the visa application fee

    Additional documentation may be requested depending on your individual application.

    Visa fees vary depending on the visa type and processing speed.

    Payment is made during the online application process.

    After submitting your application:

    • Monitor your email for updates.

    • If additional information is requested, respond promptly.

    • Once approved, your visa will be issued according to the instructions provided by the Ghanaian authorities. The official e-Visa system delivers approved e-Visas electronically.

    Carry the following with you:

    • Passport

    • Ghana Visa (printed copy if applicable)

    • Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate (required for entry)

    • Flight itinerary

    • Hotel confirmation

    • Wedding invitation (recommended)

    • Yellow Fever Vaccination (Required)

    • All travelers over nine months of age entering Ghana must present proof of Yellow Fever vaccination.

    • Receive the vaccine at least 10 days before arrival

    • Carry your original International Certificate of Vaccination ("Yellow Card") with your passport while traveling.

  • Title 01

    • Apply at least 2–3 months before travel.

    • Double-check that your passport will remain valid through January 22, 2028.

    • Keep digital and printed copies of your passport, visa, vaccination certificate, and travel itinerary.

    • Plan to arrive in Accra no later than Thursday, July 22, 2027, so you can join the Welcome Party on Friday, July 23.
